Between October 2016 and February 2017, ZIP MKE has collected over 1,000 photographs, from over 100 photographers, of all 28 zip codes in the city of Milwaukee.
After two successful runs at the Milwaukee Public Library's Central and Tippecanoe branches, ZIP MKE's groundbreaking photography exhibition will travel--with a selection of new photos--to the Mill Road Branch on March 20.
On Saturday, March 25th, ZIP MKE will host a community celebration to kick-off the exhibit's stay at Mill Road until April 25th.
Alderwoman Chantia Lewis (District 9) will help kick off the festivities, and local coffee shop bard Kavon Cortez-Jones* and spoken word artist Ed Wingard will perform.
Anticipate a chance to hang out with your neighbors, meet new ones from around the city, and experience the broad diversity and beauty of Milwaukee's faces and places as seen through the lenses of your fellow residents.
Visit our website (www.zipmke.com) for information about ZIP MKE: our mission and vision, our online gallery, how to submit, and more--including when the exhibit may be in YOUR neck of the woods in 2017!
