Founder and Director of ZIP MKE
An English teacher at Marquette University, Pius XI High School, and The Prairie School for 22 years, Dominic recently “retired” to explore his own writing paths (he is the ninth writer-in-residence at The Pfister Hotel and the editor of RelevantMilwaukee.com) and to pursue social activism through projects like ZIP and REMIX, two brands he hopes will foster healing artistic expression and empowered voices in Milwaukee, especially the often unheard voices of young people (in the near future, REMIX MKE will pilot a unique writing and performance experience with youth from the Sherman Park neighborhood).

Lead Web Developer and Photo Curator
A senior at Marquette studying Computer Science and currently living in zip code 53233, Austin has a passion for photography and capturing unique moments that others might have missed. He works part-time at an aerospace company writing code when not busy with schoolwork. Austin is also an avid bike racer and cyclist, competing with the local team Velocause. Through creating images and short films, he hopes to bring a taste of the various locations and zip codes in Milwaukee to those who might not otherwise be exposed.
// TRACEY THOMAS //
Tracey has lived in the 53202 for the past 10 years, enjoying the museums, theater, and the lakefront, all just steps away. Neighboring communities--such as Bayview, the Eastside, and Riverwest to name a few--offer yet more variety and flavor. She is a former businesswoman who now enjoys sharing her time in a volunteer capacity, with WMSE/91.7 and Girls Rock Milwaukee as the most recent additions to her lengthy roster. And now, happily, ZIP MKE! Tracey keeps busy by hanging with friends, practicing yoga, attending the Milwaukee Film Festival, travel, and checking out the Milwaukee music scene. She is thrilled to be the newest Zipster added to the team, looking forward to bringing awareness to those who might not know what these communities and their residents are all about, who they are, what they have to offer. She says, "I think it's very exciting to know that this could really and truly bring people together, in a really positive way."

Malik is a 21-year-old born and raised in the 53206 area. He is currently a marketing student at UW-Milwaukee and aspires to be an entrepreneur. Malik has a passion for fashion, music, sports, and photography. In fact, he just recently launched a clothing brand and blog called Trap Aesthetic, a movement whose mission is to empower the people and encourage individuals to express themselves creatively. The name “Trap Aesthetic” is a play on two words that one wouldn’t normally put together, a dichotomy between two words that normally portray negative and positive things. "Trap" usually refers to something unappealing (in urban parlance, it can mean a dangerous neighborhood) and "aesthetic" means the appreciation of beauty. However, Malik believes that the “trap” has a lot of positive things within it, and he wants to photograph all the good--in his zip code and others.
// BRYAN KUBEL //
Bryan was born and raised in Muskego, Wisconsin, college-educated at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana (Chirp! Chirp!), and is now starting his post-grad life in his favorite city: Milwaukee. He has been living in 53202 since July and has fallen in love with the Lower East Side. When he’s not working at his full-time position in Oak Creek at a software company, he loves to peruse social media, work out at Gold’s Gym downtown, and take adventures throughout his new home. Bryan hopes to learn more about “The Good Land” and the other 26 ZIP codes as he works with ZIP MKE!
